Students will gain knowledge, skills, and experience to understand that natural and cultural environments have particular characteristics and how environments are shaped by processes that create spatial patterns.
Selected context
In the context distribution of primary production in New Zealand, students could:
- analyse an environment to identify key climatic features, the major topographical regions, and the main types of primary production carried out in those regions
- describe the natural and cultural environmental requirements for kiwifruit growing
- investigate natural and cultural environmental influences on location of market gardens
- explore natural and cultural environmental influences on marketing of primary products.
