Unuhia te rito o te harakeke kei whea te kōmako e kō?
Whakatairangitia – rere ki uta, rere ki tai;
Ui mai koe ki ahau he aha te mea nui o te ao,
Māku e kī atu he tangata, he tangata, he tangata!
Kia ora koutou. Welcome to the social sciences teaching and learning guides.
These guides have been designed to help teachers create quality teaching and learning programmes. Their focus is on describing ‘valued learning’ in the subject concerned and on how teacher decisions and actions can promote such learning.
The guides are adjuncts to The New Zealand Curriculum and should be seen as resources rather than syllabuses or prescriptions. New teachers will find them indispensable for planning; experienced teachers will find them useful for reframing their area of expertise and linking it with the wider curriculum; school leaders will find them a valuable reference when reviewing their senior school programme.
