Achievement objective 6-4: Issues

Students will gain knowledge, skills, and experience to:

  • describe the purpose and importance of ethical guidelines to consider social justice and human rights in an Aotearoa/New Zealand context.

Possible contexts

Possible contexts include the following:

  • Why do we need unique principles for Aotearoa?
  • Is it ethical to use research gained without following guidelines?
  • Do the ends justify the means?
  • Can you tell when ethical principles have been applied/not applied?

Assessment for qualifications

Learning in relation to this objective can be assessed using psychology achievement standards or relevant achievement standards from other subjects or learning areas. The standards selected should connect with a holistic learning programme that meets the needs of your students. Possible standards include:

  • 91843 Psychology –  Demonstrate understanding of ethical principles in psychological practice in Aotearoa/New Zealand
