Achievement objective GM6-3

In a range of meaningful contexts, students will be engaged in thinking mathematically and statistically. They will solve problems and model situations that require them to:

  • calculate volumes, including prisms, pyramids, cones, and spheres, using formulae.

Indicators

  • Models objects using 3D shapes.
  • Solves problems involving finding volume(s).
  • Uses volume formulae appropriately.

What is new/changed?

  • ‘Calculate volumes’ has moved from level 5.

Assessment for qualifications

NCEA achievement standards at level 1 and 2 have been aligned to the New Zealand Curriculum. Please ensure that you are using the correct version of the standards by going to the NZQA website.

Aligned level 3 achievement standards will be registered by NZQA for use in 2013.
