Programme 1 – Planning and programming (Python)

Developed by Jennifer Gottschalk, Whangaparaoa College, 2018 

This teaching and learning programme is based around an eBook tutorial (flipped learning pedagogy) which includes embedded video. Students are given several problems related to games of chance and are encouraged to develop programs to solve these problems. No prior programming knowledge is assumed.

Students will:

  • design and develop a basic program
  • ensure that their outcomes are easy to use
  • be ethical when designing and creating their outcome
  • meet the criteria set out in digital technologies achievement standards 91883 and 91884.
