Students will gain knowledge, skills, and experience to:

  • identify and describe the various methodologies used in psychological research.

Possible contexts

Possible contexts include the following:

  • What are some famous or influential studies from the past?
  • What methods have dominated psychological research and why?
  • Who benefits from the research information gathered by psychologists?

Assessment for qualifications

Learning in relation to this objective can be assessed using psychology achievement standards or other relevant learning area standards. The standards selected should connect with a holistic learning programme that meets the needs of your students.

Possible standards include:

  • 91841 Psychology – Demonstrate understanding of the methods used in psychological research
