Randomisation test alt text 3

Three linked graphs. The top and middle graphs have the same horizontal axes, labelled  9 – 15.

Top pair of plots is labelled Data. The Exercise plot, has 6 dots at 9, 9.5, 9.5, 9.7, 10 and 13 months. The Exercise box plot: minimum 9, lower quartile 9.5, median 9.6, upper quartile 10 and maximum 13 months.

There are 6 dots for the Control group at 10, 10, 10.5, 11, 11.75 and 15 months. There is no left hand whisker on the Control box plot. Minimum and lower quartile 10, median 10.75, upper quartile 11.75 maximum 15 months.

Medians are marked by purple vertical lines. A red arrow starts from the Exercise median and ends at the Control median and its length, the difference between the control and exercise medians, is labelled 1.12.

Middle graph, labelled Re-randomised data, is blank.

Bottom graph, labelled Re-randomisation distribution, has horizontal axis from -3 to 3. It is a dot plot of the differences in the medians of 1000 re-randomisations. The plot has columns of grey dots, from approximately – 1.8 to 1.8 months. The graph is symmetrical and looks like a bell except the middle three columns (-0.12, 0, 0.12) are approximately 1/5 of the height of the bars immediately on the left and the right.
